Overview
LiDAR is a critical sensor for high-level autonomous driving systems. Compared to traditional MOSFETs, GaN features smaller parasitic capacitance and faster switching speeds, allowing LiDAR systems to emit narrower laser pulses that significantly improve resolution and ranging accuracy. Additionally, GaN enables higher narrow-pulse currents, substantially increasing LiDAR's peak power and effectively extending its detection range. This capability facilitates earlier identification of distant obstacles, provides longer system response time, and ensures safer and more reliable autonomous driving.
