Overview
VGaN technology brings innovation to overvoltage protection (OVP) in mobile phones. The non-parasitic body diode of GaN enables controlled bidirectional turn-on and turn-off, replacing the function traditionally requiring two NMOS devices. Its unique structure delivers higher power density and lower on-resistance, allowing the OVP module to be extremely slim and compact for easy integration into the limited space of mobile phones. Innoscience's VGaN products are also the world's first GaN chips introduced into mobile phones.

The INNEDD001A2 is an input-side electronic switch evaluation board based on VGaN, designed primarily to evaluate switching performance during overvoltage protection (OVP) and overcurrent protection (OCP). A single VGaN chip can replace two MOSFETs, reducing board space by 64% and heat generation by 85%.
