VGaN technology brings innovation to overvoltage protection (OVP) in mobile phones. The non-parasitic body diode of GaN enables controlled bidirectional turn-on and turn-off, replacing the function traditionally requiring two NMOS devices. Its unique structure delivers higher power density and lower on-resistance, allowing the OVP module to be extremely slim and compact for easy integration into the limited space of mobile phones. The INNEDD001A2 is an input-side electronic switch evaluation board based on VGaN, designed primarily to evaluate switching performance during overvoltage protection (OVP) and overcurrent protection (OCP). A single VGaN chip can replace two MOSFETs, reducing board space by 64% and heat generation by 85%.
